When the RIGHTEOUS are in AUTHORITY, the people REJOICE:
but when the WICKED beareth RULE, the people MOURN.
We NEVER in any election get to VOTE for the BEST candidate — that's JESUS. So, we are left to Vote for the BETTER candidate.
POLITICS: (poly=many; tics=blood sucking animals)
Our 21st century society is MESMERIZED by MEDIA, valuing PERSONALITY over POSITION, & the SCINTILLATING over SUBSTANCE.
The same should not be said of America's 100 million Evangelicals, more than half of whom are not even registered to Vote!!
The next POTUS will be elected from one of two political parties; one to the right, the other to the left.
If you can't conscientiously vote for the PERSON, vote for the POSITION.
"A WISE man's heart is at his RIGHT hand; but a FOOL'S heart at his LEFT." (Ecclesiastes 10:2)
The Republcans and Democrats have published party platforms; one 66 pages, the other 55.
Reading these, I've discovered some amazing CONTRASTS:
One mentions Creator, the other doesn't.
One mentions Prayer, the other doesn't.
One mentions Pastors, the other doesn't.
One mentions Church, the other doesn't.
One mentions Preach, the other doesn't.
One mentions Bible, the other doesn't.
One mentions Sanctity of Human Life, the other doesn't.
One mentions Religious Liberty, the other doesn't.
One mentions Marriage, the other doesn't.
One mentions Father, the other doesn't.
One mentions Mother, the other doesn't.
BTW, the one that DOESN'T mention Marriage, Father, Mother, DOES mention LGBT, Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, while the other DOESN'T!
One mentions Conscience, the other doesn't.
One mentions Ethical, the other doesn't.
One party platform mentions God 15x, the other 3x.
One mentions Christian 8x & Muslim 1x;
the other mentions Christian 1x & Muslim 6x.
One mentions God-given 9x, the other 2x; Constitution 79x vs 7x; Freedom 45x vs 11x; Liberty 24x vs 3x; Inalienable right(s) 10x vs 1x.
One party platform acknowledges the Bill of Rights lists religious liberty as the first freedom protected, the other does not.
One party promises a "Pledge to safeguard religious institutions against government control."
One party says, "We value the right of America's churches, pastors, and religious leaders to preach and speak freely according to their faith."
One party supports the appointment of judges who respect traditional family values and the sanctity of innocent human life. (The next POTUS will likely appoint 3 new Supreme Court Justices.)
One says strong families depending upon God & one another advance the cause of liberty & lessen the need for government in our daily lives.
One party platform defines marriage as joining one man with one woman. The other does not.
One endorses legislation that will bar government discrimination against individuals & businesses for acting on the belief that marriage is the Union of one man & one woman.
One believes in sanctity of life, that we should not use Gov't funds to abort, and mentions adoption 8x. The other believes abortion should be available for the full 9 months, and that we should use tax payer funds to put pressure on other nations to also provide abortion, and mentions adoption just 2x.
One says the Constitution's guarantee that no one can "be deprived of life, liberty or property" deliberately echoes the Declaration of Independence's proclamation that all are endowed by their Creator with the inalienable right to life. "Accordingly, we assert the sanctity of human life and affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental right to life which cannot be infringed."
Contrast of key words mentioned:
Sanctity of human life 3x
Moral 10x (affirming)
Moral 3x (affirming)
Inalienable right(s) 10x
Inalienable right(s) 1x
Religious Freedom 6x
Religious Freedom 3x
Religious liberty 6x
Religious liberty 0x
Our Constitution begins,
"We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, and endowed by our creator."
If you don't believe in Creation, you can't believe in equality. If you believe we evolved, you will never believe we are equal, because evolution is not equal.
We are not a Democracy, we are Republic. Democracy is people rule. Republic is rule by Constitutional law. We operate as democracy by electing leaders to uphold Constitution. But the elected leaders are changing interpretation of Constitution. They've changed the definition of democracy to the definition of republic.
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice:
but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
1973 SCOTUS made mistake.
2015 SCOTUS made mistake (narrow 5-4)
America is in trouble financially, over $19 trillion in debt. A billion is 1,000 millions; trillion is 1,000 billions. Our debt doubled in last 8 yrs, and doubled 8 yrs before that. In year 2000, our debt was at $5 trillion.
"Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, EVEN THIS WHOLE NATION." (Malachi 3:9)
Our American currency says, "IN GOD WE TRUST."
But DO we??
"Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine." (Proverbs 3:9-10)
"And I will REBUKE the DEVOURER for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts." (Malachi 3:11)
"And all NATIONS shall call you BLESSED: for ye shall be a DELIGHTSOME LAND, saith the Lord of hosts." (Malachi 3:12)
Today, while 7 of 10 Americans identify as Christian, only 4 in 10 attend church weekly. And, out of 320 million people in America, only 10 million Tithe. That's less than 3%, meaning 97% of Americans are robbing God. No wonder America faces unprecedented debt crisis!!
77% of Tithers give between 11% & 20% of their income, and 70% donate based on their gross (not net) income.
Generous givers are better off financially than their non-tithing counterparts. Nearly 1 in 3 (33%) Christian tithers reports being debt free, and the vast majority (8 in 10), 80%, have no outstanding credit card bills, compared to 13% and 60% of non-tithers, respectively.
But it isn't the case that faithful tithers only give because they have excess income. Instead, the data show that tithers are distributed almost equally across all income brackets.
Tithers also carry outsized importance in a congregation. The State of the Plate study found they comprise "only 10-25 percent of the families in the church, but they often provide 50 to 80 percent of the funding."
On November 8, America will elect a new President to serve the next 4 years. Even if our nation goes the wrong direction, I have peace, not as the world gives, but a peace beyond understanding.
Because I know how it ends.
"And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the LORD GOD omnipotent REIGNETH." (Revelation 19:6)
